Cembra Valley (IT)

About pilot area:

Located in the north-east part of the Autonomous Province of Trento along the lower part of the Avisio river, the land is characterized by high fragmentation and steep slopes, vine-growing terraces, with dry stone walls, forming a unique agricultural landscape included in the National Register of Rural Historic Landscapes of Italy. Moreover, these difficult growing conditions make mechanisation almost impossible; therefore, the large part of the area is cultivated according to the principles of heroic viticulture.
